Dialogue between Past and Future
Kothon
is the Bangla word for Dialogue. Kothon
wants to establish a dialogue with the
society - it could be about our culture,
our heritage, or even about our
persistent struggle to install Bengalees
as a nation in the global village.
Since its emergence as a New
England-based cultural organization in
March of 1996, through it's activities Kothon has been able to capture the hearts of
hundreds of Bangladeshi-Americans living in
North America.
Kothon's mission is two
fold:
To promote the rich
cultural heritage and history of
Bangladesh in the American
mainstream; and,
To promote
multi-cultural awareness, especially among the new
generation of Bangladeshi-Americans who are growing
up in this country.
